  • In the after math of the 2010 World Equestrian Games and the show season coming to an end, we at Shylah have been putting an emphasis on taking lessons or rather finding good honest people who work well with each horse and rider combination. Some of our boarders already take lessons with Cathy Wieschhoff and Eric Dierks, however many of our boarders simply do not have their own truck and trailer so we look for people to come to our barn. Recently, Wayne Quarles who is a "R" rated combined training judge and an FEI "I" 3-Day Event Judge here in the Lexington area has come out to the farm to give lessons. So far many of our riders have really enjoyed his teaching style and having a judge as a coach is a plus! We will keep you updated as the fall goes on.

  • Currently we are counting down the days until the 2010 World Equestrian Games (WEG) are upon us here in Lexington, KY. The games will start September 25 and will last for three weeks and include 8 equestrian disciplines. We expect that WEG will deeply affect Shylah farm due in part because we are so close to the KY horse park (less than 1 mile!) We hope to be getting some lay overs in from people either in WEG or those just coming to visit. We have since then filled the barn with flowers and fresh paint, after all this is the world we will be hosting

  • We are now hosting a family and the cutest pony ever named Honey from California for the 2010 North American Junior Young Riders Championship. Honey and her family have qualified to compete in Area 8 of California team for Dressage at the NAJYRC this year held in Lexington, KY. We wish them the best of luck and safe travels!
